Vineyards hold not only vines, wineries, and habitat, but also hidden opportunities to access tax deductions or grant funding while protecting the land for agriculture into the future. Oregon Agricultural Trust (OAT), a nonprofit land trust, will share about working land conservation easements. These voluntary agreements allow landowners to trade in unneeded development rights for financial benefits. OAT will also share the experiences of vineyard owners in Napa County who have donated these easements to meet their financial, succession planning, and conservation goals.
